Your contributions help us to decrease polarization in America and Cross Our Divide by supporting and promoting our guided Policy Journey. Crossing Our Divide is a 501(c)4 nonprofit, as such, gifts are not tax-deductible.*
Crossing Our Divide is a Social Welfare Organization that is registered as a 501c4 nonprofit. But what does that mean?
If you donate to a 501(c)4 of any sort you will NOT able to claim a tax deduction on your contribution. Unlike, a traditional nonprofit or 501(c)3, a 501(c)4 is able to address and/or influence politics and advocate for policy issues.
Crossing Our Divide board members and our Policy Guide, Jennifer Pharr Davis, are supporting the organization as unpaid leaders and volunteers. 100% of funding is directed towards producing, promoting our Policy Journey and covering overhead costs. Our time, talents, and resources are fully directed at bridging our cultural divide and making congress more effective.
Because there are avenues to give unlimited amounts of money to 501c4 organizations, it creates a monetary bias and influence within American politics. Crossing Our Divide strives to limit these factors by voluntarily capping donations at the same federal levels set for individuals giving to a national office, an amount of $3,300. And there is no donation too small to make a big difference.
